About Grassworks
Grassworks Productions is a classical music production company that pioneers innovative new works for social impact. Founded by Abagael Cheng, a professional opera singer, organizer, and creative producer of live performances, Grassworks is guided by the belief that we can change the world one community at a time. We believe that storytelling is a transformative cultural force. We empower individual artists and audience members to see themselves as change agents working within a larger collective towards the shared goal of a more just and joyful world. In partnership with cultural peers and community organizations, we are committed to advancing the classical music art form, engaging with the critical issues of our time, and activating our communities to build a more equitable and just society.

After self-producing theatrical performances in New York for five years, founder Abagael Cheng decided to put all my artistic work under one umbrella. With a passion for team sports, she wanted to create opportunities for artists to collaborate on new productions together. Her vision is to build Grassworks into an artistic space to share bold stories and create caring communities.
